3 Inventors
Spring 2023
This project was all about stretching our creative limits. I created a poster series about 3 inventors Gladys West, Claudius Ptolemy and Kursat Ceylan. I did research to kick off this project and to really understand who Gladys West, Claudius Ptolemy and Kursat Ceylan were.
SKETCHES
After researching, I began brainstorming and sketching my ideas on paper.
TYPE EXPERIMENTATION
I started experimenting with typefaces physically: cutting, ripping, taping, layering, water etc. Then I experimented with type distortion in Illustrator and Photoshop.
DIGITAL ITERATIONS
After sketching and type experimentation, I transferred my ideas digitally and began working in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
COLOR EXPLORATION
Once I decided on the image, I imported it into Photoshop and started adding effects and changing the colors to relate back to the inventors themselves.
FINAL POSTER SERIES
The final poster series showcasing the global breakthroughs of Claudius Ptolemy, Gladys West and Kursat Ceylan.
